Hello, I am a bit new on this forum, and didn't post a lot... I saw on some other wildlife forum, most in the US, people using a shoulder mount from Bushhawk. Is anybody never try one of this, and do you know if we could find it in the U.K?
Thanks

I've looked several times, and i like the idea, but the price seems high if i didnt like it. It came to about £200 with all the extras i wanted.

They are very pricey - think I'd have to try before I buy, though I'm certain Franz Lanting for one swears by them.
Did you find a UK supplier Paul?

Way back in the late 1970s and early 80s I used to use a home made rifle stock with shutter release trigger system (from a pattern in AP....)- but in those days of manual focus you had to have been born with a third arm and hand to trigger the shutter or use a rifle stock/pistol grip, your other two hands were full of supporting the camera and twist focussing the lens.
Roll forward 30 years and fully automatic autofocus gear - and you no longer need that third hand.
There is no real need for a rifle stock type system these days, all you need do is practice, practice, and more practice at a smooth panning style.

Mike - you're a spoil-sport
Just imagine how much fun you could have being cammo'd up to the eyes and have one of those Bushmasters - the local constabulary chopper squad and the rapid response teams would be on you in minutes

I met a guy at the RIAT with one, and gave it a try, and i think it would probably add about 1/2 a stop over normal hand holding, more with the larger lenses. My only issue, was that his, with a 70-200 IS was too short in the stock for me to look through the viewfinder. This is why i need the extra long stock and gubbins to make it comfortable.
Andy, i dont know a UK stockist, i was looking to get it from the US.
