Not sure if this image is as strong as the last few posted and I'm also unsure if it works better in B&W or colour. It was thundering at the time but unfortunately I was not lucky enough to catch it. Again, taken with the glow of twilight. Also anyone have any thoughts on if the cyan cast should be removed from the water or not? Tristan
Beautiful shot. The colour version is my favourite.

Hi Tristan,
I too prefer the colour version - the warm sky really adds drama imho.

Well I am going to buck the trend and say I prefer the B&W version , but I then I do really like B&W landscapes. The colour version is nice though, it sort of gives a feeling of vertigo, as if I am falling into the shot. I really like the comp and atmos.
Well done as always
Paul

Very beautiful atmospheric image - it deserves to be made into an enormous print. Unknown pleasures for most of us

I'm a huge B&W fan, so i love that version.
But i also like the colour version.Either one does it for me

Love both Tristan - but I think the colour version just does it for me that bit more

This is much IMHO better than your previous one Tristan. The colours and light are much better balanced. I really lovely image.
Very nice pair of images. Both the colour and black and white version works for me. If I had to pick a favourite from the two, it would have to be the colour version.

lovely image Tristan, got to say the colour version, but both of them have that cloud like consistency of froth that makes the rocks seem to float

Lovelyl Tristan. I like the colour version best, love the golden glow and how the warmth is picked up by the rocks. I think the greenycyan tones of the spray act as a foil for the golden tones. I think the composition is very pleasing to the eye.
As for the BW version, that has an altogether different feel to it - more subdued. I suppose it is an altogether different interpretation but I miss the bright tones which are represented by the golden glow in the colour version.
ps You have really whetted my appetite for doing some landscapes!

Colour for me Tristan. For me the colour of the water adds to it. Good all round I reckon. Nicely done as usual

I too prefer the colour version,it has that dawn of time look about it,prehistoric even.the cyan cast on the water adds to the overall affect imho.

Some slight horizon perspective correction needed and a very minor rotation. Clouds are dark and brooding, the rocks are that excellent charcoal tone. I am not too sure about the bottom left corner, it has turned into a bit of a black shape, but the idea of anchoring the viewer to the land adds to the shot. The sea does have a yellowish / cyan look to it.
I think it is an interesting shot with a slightly difficult compostition to dive into, I do prefer my coastal whites Daz white! If the sea was catching the waves to make this colour then leave it.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. David: I was wondering if anyone would pick up on the horizon curving. I'm still not very good at correcting for it - I think I'll probably just save for a new lens. I'll have a go at re-processing this one and see if I can makes some improvements. Thanks Tristan

Tristan I do agree with you: it's not the strongest photo from this series. I would not go into B&W versus colour wars as I like both and you will have to twist my arm to pick one or another. As for horizon curvature: it depends on how you are looking at it. My view is that Earth is curved and therefore I don't mind curved horizon. Somehow it remembers me of that fact. So far it looks like I like it a lot. But there is some Tristan’s touch or composition or something missing for this image to be up to the high bar you set for yourself.
