Great Egret Landing
20D, 70-200 f/4, handheld, 1/800, f/4, iso800, -2/3.

Taken last year in Australia's beautiful Wilsons Promontory National Park in Victoria.

I gave a talk on my travels down under on Wednesday night to my local RSPB group which gave me a good reason to trawl through my collection from last year. I'd forgotten about a series of shots I'd taken during an hour spent in the company of this fine looking bird early one morning.

Thanks and best wishes

Nice image Paul. I like the frozen wings and detail captured :toast:

Nice action capture Paul, and nice clean whites too :toast:

Water level PoV would have been superb for this shot

Nice details in the whites. I think I'd have gone for a verticle comp and tried to get the reflection too. As Andy says a water level point of view would also be interesting. Tristan

I like action and contrast between bird and its dark surrounding make it jump out of the screen.

Cheers,
