I got up this morning to do , you know, and peaked out the french doors in our bedroom. The moon was huge and dropping like a rock behind the Rockies. I ran and got my camera and shot a couple of quick snaps. Used what was on the camera (100mm macro) and by the time I shot the moon was already dropping behind the mountains. This is by no means a techincal marvel and is a major, MAJOR crop. I think it does manage to capture what I saw.
If it matters 5D, ISO 200, 1/60, f 11, handheld
Enjoy!

Great shot! I love the pink light and the clouds just over the mountain. In my opinion, it looks great.

Great picture. I guess I wasn't the only one with the idea of shooting the moon. I was up a bit earlier and was able to take several shots with diffrent settings. One thing I tried was shifting the white balance and adding more magenta and blue.

Pamela, nice shot, I got this shot over Ft Collins this am, and this afternoon at sunset might yield something too, moon rises about the same time.

I am a bit confused about one thing, however. Just what is "you know" and how did it inspire this image?
