Hi Steve,

Old Moor isn't particularly good this time of year imho , not much about and the views can be very distant depending on the water level , although the food is excellent  , as an alternative may I suggest Potteric Carr Nature reserve nr Doncaster ( J3 / M18 ) , this reserve is super place to visit , although I may be a bit biased being a member

Today we had very good views of Bittern ( 2 birds present on Thursday ) and Water rail , with large flocks of Siskin on the move throughout the reserve , also Bullfinch , Reed bunts , Jay and Fieldfare all showing well.

Hope this info is of some use to you Steve

Regards

Andy...
