...a very cold morning, (17 degrees) along the W. Carson River, Hope Valley, CA. When I arrived at the dirt parking lot it was still dark, as it lightened up I could see that the valley was covered with a very low ground fog. As I waited for some decent light the fog began to lift and revealed that everything, and I mean everything, was frozen! I like this composition because of the colorful pebbles, the frozen reddish color of the willows, all the frozen light colored grasses, and evergreens in the background. As I watched the scene unfold, the fog in the background started to get a little wispy, which I really liked, and took the shot.
It looks like you a cold and productive morning! This is a nice shot! I love the color of the willow, the pebbles, and the grass. The whisps of fog are a nice touch. The hoarfrost is really cool. Did you get any closeups of the willow? That red and the frost crystals would be very sweet.
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

Very Nice Reno,
I also hope you made a closeup of the colors in that bush with the frost!
It REALLY almost looks like an anemone under the water....
I will wait for another post from you....
But in the mean time....
Great job here.....
Next time your gonna head up the hill give a holler...
You were just up the road a bit...
or were you escaping a family get together in SLT?
in gratitude,
Nelcha

Hi Reno,
Lovely photograph. Good subject matter and nice light. Composition wise though I feel it would be stronger if the leading line didn't disappear off the left edge of the frame so soon.

Nice. Very strong foreground, fine colors and I really like the fog.

Nice...
Personally I'd want to trim the bottom of the pic, and increase the dynamic range for the whites, brightened whites would intensify the chill factor.
