Cracks
Lake James,NC
This sight has become all too familiar...
Canon 400D,28-135mm,1/6 sec @ F11,circ.polarizer.

A sad sight, I am sure. The graphic nature of this makes it visually appealing, however.

I like this, as Richard said it has a lot of graphic appeal.

For me, I would convert to b/w as the color element doesn't add for my tastes.

I'll agree, this has a lot of graphic appeal. I like the comp, the log and the scattered leaves. But, IMHO, I like it as is without a B/W conversion. But I think both would look nice.

You really have been putting out some quality work Leann, this one is no different. Disturbing and appealing in the same shot. Nicely captured!

Cool shot Leann - i love the lines and patterns created by the cracks in the mud - great comp too. I hate that the lake levels are down and its the same way where i live but its pretty fun being able to walk the shoreline without having to bushwack.

Followed Matthew's suggestion and posted this in the weekly challenge

Leanne, they are both beautiful (and somewhat sobering) but I'd agree with Matthew I like the black and white version better. It adds to the overall mood of the shot for me. Nice work!

Oh wow Leann, I liked the color version but Matthew was right B&W works extremely well!!
