I went to Donna Nook yesterday, I have never seen a tide like this!! We had to wait for the water to go down and then walk in water to reach the sandbank, they were hardly any pup on the bank! They must have been washed away.Still it was nice to see John Gardner filling his boots with sea water...
I had to run to get this shot as we were late to get that sunrise....this was taken with a 300mm Canon and the mark 3

Nice light . A lot of the pups higher up around the Farnes have been washed off in the high tide/winds of a few weeks back - looks like the Seals may be in for a bad year this year.
As to John, couldn't you have filled his boots with lead or concrete instead of water - would have helped to weigh him down ...
My mistake, it was not the 300mmm but the 17mm .35 mm wide angle lens that I use for the shot

Nice shot, well done. I had a similar sunset down at Cuckmere Haven, thought I got some nice shots too, until I realised when I got home that the sensor on my 5D had more dust on it than my local church hall's floor! Damn damn damn!

Very nice image and what a beautiful sky

Is she looking out to sea in the vain hope of seeing her washed away pup?
Perhaps not, but it would be a good strap-line for the image
