Roark Bluff
I took this shot of Roark Bluff, just downstream from the Steele Creek campground on the Buffalo National River, late in the afternoon of November 3. I believe a couple of the members of this forum were in the vicinity. My two sons, age 7 and 11, and I had just set up camp and were having a great time on the stream's edge. I had to ask them to step out of the way while I snapped this photo.
I must admit I did a lot of Photoshop work to lighten the shadows. I would appreciate any and all feedback, especially regarding the color saturation. Is it realistic? Not enough? Too much?
Thanks for looking.

John I like it. Looks very realistic to me. Saturation looks nice. Good job. Wish I would have been in the area around then.

I wasn't there to know what realistic was but this looks real to me. I would push it a little more and see how I liked it. However, and I know its just me, but I like them slightly over the edge. You don't have to apologize for using photoshop, everyone does. Its like a painter apologizing for using a brush. Your kids are going to have some great memories. Well Done!

John, I think the color saturation and shadow detail look very realistic. I'd say good job at capture and in post processing. Well done!

We missed each other by not more than a half hour that afternoon, I expect. I was there for a few minutes before heading upstream of the campground, with the idea that I might come back later when the light was better. I never made it back that afternoon, but looks like you were there during the good light.

This shot looks completely plausible to me, given the back light that was lighting up the foliage here as well as where I was shooting that afternoon.

I've got some shots of this same place that I took that morning in the fog. I'll have to post one of those.

John, I think this looks great. If the shadows were any lighter, it would indicate that the sun were higher in the sky than it is. I think you did a great job. Well done.
