Please join us for our 5th Annual RMNP get together! Last year's shindig was a great success, and we'd love to meet the new RMNP members that have joined us during the year. It is really hard to believe that this is the 5th year. This annual event is enjoyed by all and we welcome all members to join in the celebration and fun.

For those of you who are new or those that havent been before, once a year we have a big party at Qube Visual to talk about photography, share pictures/portfolios, eat, drink and be merry. We encourage people to upload 10 images that we can use in a slideshow on the events page.

For the party we will be needing the following items:

Food (ie: anything you like, people have brought everything from salad to cookies before)
Beverages (ie: Beer, soft drinks, wine etc)
Fold up tables
Pizza & Wings money (make a donation to the cause)

If you plan on going please respond to this thread and let us know what you plan on bringing.

The party will be at
Qube Visual
1247 Santa Fe Dr.
Denver, Co 80204

on January 19th, 2008 6:00PM

Look forward to seeing you there.

Will bring something to eat...are there rules for the print swap?
Posted by Les Barstow on January 7, 2008 at 6:21 PM
I hope there are some rules. (As opposed to last time...)

The White Elephant rules we used here at work recently were:
* all items hidden/covered to start
* each person gets a number and play proceeds in numerical order from there
* person picks an item, or "steals" an item already taken
* items "stolen" are replaced by a newly picked item, or via another "steal".
* items cannot be immediately "stolen" back.
* items can only pass into 3 sets of hands - i.e. two "steals". After that, the item is "frozen".
* If the first person to choose still has their original item at the end, they can choose to "steal" in exchange for the item they have; this proceeds as per a normal "steal" - i.e. the person "stolen" from can in turn "steal" from someone else, until everyone's happy or there are no more items available to "steal".
Posted by Les Barstow on January 7, 2008 at 6:22 PM
BTW, I will be bringing my wife, so count me in for two and not just one!
Posted by Rene Pirolt on January 8, 2008 at 12:37 AM
Les,

I think to keep the entertainment going and to simplify the rules, I don’t think we should limit the steal to 3 for each item.

In other words, any item can be stolen – but each item is limited to ONE steal per round. (So, a person cannot immediately steal back an item).
Posted by Les Barstow on January 8, 2008 at 10:18 AM
Works for me - I was just putting forward a set of rules as an alternative to being confused!
Posted by Stephen Weaver on January 9, 2008 at 11:16 AM
Not sure I can make it. I may be coming back from Kansas that day
Posted by RODHANNA on January 9, 2008 at 1:28 PM
I will be there and will bring beer and $$$ for pizza. I will also bring a copy of my new book, "Seasons of Light" which I will offer as a door prize or raffle item. I'll also bring a print although I'm having trouble with this old brain getting a grasp of the stealing rules!

I guess that is a bit far to go to party. But you guys will be missed this year that is for sure.

I am planning on being there and will probably bring some greens like a salad and/or other veggies. I'm trying to maintain my girlish figure after the Holidays. :jump:
