Greylag Goose
Hi All,

Popped up to Slimbridge yesterday for my first visit, and begun by playing with the Greylags by the visitor centre.

Techs:

Nikon D2X, 200-400MM, angle finder, 1/125 at F8, camera on ground.

C and C welcome.

Regards Chris.

Really nice depth of field, it adds loads to the image and getting down so low also makes a huge difference. Tristan

Hi Chris,

I like it. Very easy to walk right by these and not stop and pay them any attention. The dof is perfect and the oof grass in the fg works well.

This is great for all the above reasons. The OOF foreground is perfect, exposure spot on and lovely pin sharp detail. One slight distraction - is that a car in the background?

Hi David,

Thanks for your comment.

I think it is another lake in the BG. I took several shots for different angles and can't really remember which it is - I think either a lake or sky.

Chris.

Hi Chris a very nice image with lots of feather detail just how I like them, the background is superb and the unfocused foreground concentrates your attention on the main subject.

Phillip.

Chris, thought you'd say that! Whatever it is it doesn't detract from a great intimate portrait.
