I almost completely ignore the image on the LCD. I only use it to judge composition and to examine the histograms. The little screen is just not adequate to judge much else so I leave that for when I get home and can work on a large calibrated screen.
Exactly what Guy said. When I do shoot digital I always check my histogram just to make sure everything is in bounds. If it is then I know I am all set with the image.
About the only time I really have to use the image checker is when I am shooting weddings and have to make sure nobody is blinking or giving me a gesture etc.

I just saw this mentioned the other night on a video called "Adventures in Photography" by Jim Miotke (betterphotos.com). He uses a 4x loupe and says it comes in handy on bright days when it's hard to see the LCD screen. I haven't tried it myself so I can't say whether it works or not.

3 repliesI quite often have troubles getting a good look at images on the screen. I know some of my problem is my aging eyes.
