Spent the day at Minsmere, with very little showing. So most of the effort was with the small birds in the scrub and woodland. This is one of my favorite birds to shoot.
Colours work well and I do like the bramble rather than the usual 'twig'! Stu, have you thought about a good Monopod rather than hand holding the 500?

Nice job Stu
Could do with a slight recomp to get rid of some of that dead space at the top, but it's a great pose with nice DoF
Ain't 500's great I miss mine like hell

Nice one indeed. This unusual twig works great here. I also like the warm tones in this one. Maybe a horizontal next time?

Thanks for the replies and suggestions,I have reworked the comp but I cant repost the image,I just get redirected to the posting guidlines page.I thought you could repost within the same thread regardless of the one pic every 24 hours rule?
What happened to your 500 then Andy?

Agree with Andy - it could be higher in the frame but otherwise it's a super image.

Very nice shot of the bird and branch it sits on with a good pose and lovely colours.
Not too fond myself of the bg branch coming from its tail and could be cloned out quite easily.
You can repost in this topic irrespective of the time limit - there's a button marked "Choose File" at the bottom of the reply box (in fact it's right in front of the "Reply to this Topic" button!)
You've a nice shot there, the only thing I'm not so sure about is the shadow of the thorns on the bird's breast - I find it a bit distracting.
