Another one from the Collegiate Peaks early this summer ... detail of a partially frozen lake at sunrise.

It may look like color noise in the lower right, but that's the ice surface catching sunrise reflection.

Feedback welcome.

I am not good with words or critiques. All I can really say is "cool" or "nice" or other one word statements or "I like this" of course if I didn't like it I wouldn't say I like it sooooooooo. I like this.

actually what really grabs my attention is that s line near the top center of the photo and the small open areas on the top right all reflecting the warm colors.
See I am not good with words

Jesse:

I really like this one. In particular, the square format is appealing. I also appreciate the way the foreground snow provides the viewer with an intro into the image and the colored reflections invite the viewer in deeper.

Great! I really like this one. I love the soft hues and the flowing lines. I like the square format too, nice choice. I like the abstract nature too, depending on how you approach it, it looks like an aerial view or the detail shot that it is.
Very nice! v :toast:

Very nice--looks like an alien landscape. I really like the soft colors and detail.

I dig it. You've been posting some great abstract scenes this year Jesse. Congrats on your fall foliage shot winner too!

I like the comp, the square format and the over all tones and colors. The lower right corner seems a bit distracting though and pulls me out of the frame. I think I would dodge that area to lighten it up and balance it with the rest of the image.

Great comp Jesse! I love the seperation of the warm reflected light and that which is still in the shade. Great shot overall!

Thanks everyone. Yeah John, I did dodge that corner quite a bit. Reached a point where I thought it was not as distracting, but at the same still held enough contrast. Thanks!
