Black, White, and Blue
Had to stop at Black Canyon on my way back from the San Juans. The rim drive is closed to autos which makes for a nice hike. Here's a couple shots of the canyon. (more at ESS)

Not as cool as my 'Secret Canyon' but worth a few photos!

Close to sunset, the light went downhill fast--that canyon is too deep for light to enter!

What the hey, here's one more from the mesa resevoir.

Very cool (or cold!) stuff Stan. Haven't seen many photos from the Black Canyon during winter. Closed roads is probably why. Definitely worth a visit at this time of year!

I like the shot from Mesa Res. the best.

Thanks Scott for the input. Yes, Josh, not much access, but apparently the road is used quite a bit for snowshoeing and skiing. I had both with me, but with asphalt showing i figured walking was best!

Geez, when were you there, Stan??? I was there yesterday and today. Did I just miss you today?

Nevermind. I just noticed how little snow is in your shots. There was a ton up there from this latest storm.

Oh sure, just rub some more salt in my wounds, Todd
Yes, this was last sunday/monday. Looks like more snow to come for next weekend.

The canyon sure is pretty in snow. I'm gonna have to add that to my list of places to go in winter. I'm voting for the Mesa Res shot out of this bunch.
