Redwing, Leeds Liverpool Canal,Crossflatts, West Yorkshire.Early November07

Hi everyone. Spent the morning snapping blackbirds as there was little else about. After about dozen pics a blackbird got fed up with me and flew off, only to be almost immediatley replaced by this Redwing who in turn stayed for about a dozen pics and then cleared off. Never saw another Redwing during the rest of the day. It funny but loads of bushes along the canal have berries on them but there are certain ones which are favourites with the birds and me!

Techs
1d2n 400mm 5.6L x2,iso 800, 1/125th @ F14.Chopped off a light area on the right and darkened the remaining bit in CS3.

Comments welcome

Nice behavioural shot John :toast:

I might be tempted to try a slightly smaller recrop to just give that tail a bit more clearence from the frame edge :wavey:

Nice one John. Perhaps a little busy but great timing. I know where there is a flock of these and Fieldfares but I just can't seem to get near them.

I can't seem to get anywhere near these things either so this makes me a tad green! I think it's great - I really like shots which give the birds some room. And the half-swallowed berry is a really nice touch.

Hi John a very very nice image and I especially like it as he shows it in its habitat.

Lovely shot of the bird with its favoured food but the whole pic for me is a bit cluttered but...what can you do..such is life and I have not even got one shot of that species!

Great behavioural shot John. Beautiful light you had today. Lovely bow of berries around the bird.
Well done.

Perhaps a bit busy, but a good envo shot. I haven't got near these, so I can't really say much. Bit tight on the tail but that's subjective. Colour and processing looks very good from here :toast:
