Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody can give me any pointers as to the AF settings used when tracking moving subjects with the Nikon D2X please?
For example, I was at Slimbridge using a 200-400mm trying to track woodpigeons and the AF didn't seem to budge at all. Is this likely to be camera related or small subject moving very fast?
First set A4 to off in the menu then I set the focus swhich on the front of the camera to AF-C and the autofocus points to centrepoint group dynamic and the switch on the back of the camera I use the bottom two settings the third setting the triangle I use when the birds are in the sky.
In the menu I also have it set for AFC and AFS to focus priority where it will only take a image when your subject is in focus (can't see any point in taking out of focus images )

I think Phillip pretty much covered it. I use the D2X with a 500mm f4.5 and can get BIF shots

I have followed phillips recommendations and can certainly vouch for the performance.

Same as Phillip here too Chris - it's not foolproof, but it's the best settings group I've found for the D2Xs too
