You beat me to it Major. As you say a very approachable and co-operative rarity. This bird is much stockier than our native species. On average 1.5 of these turn up here annually. They breed in Africa and Asia and winter in North Africa. This one was obviously using a sat-nav like mine

This seems to be turing into the most photographed DW ever! Out of all the shots I've looked at of this individual this is the most interesting. Paul - I PM'ed you yesterday, did you get the message and RAW file?

Lovely shot, love the colours, and what a cool little bird :) The only tiny thing id change would be to crop out that black thing on the post as its a tiny bit distracting

P.S. You have too many www's in your signature as well :)

Great shot I always find the small birds the most difficult subjects this is one I'll try to emulate.

Lovely Major. Love the expression on the little bird, also like how the background colouration is so close to the birds plumage. :toast:

Now I've got this monitor calibrated this shot looks a real stunner :toast: :toast:

My only nit would be the EF clip on the post - can you mask that out Major?

Many thanks for all your comments. Corrected the wubul's Ian
Andy I have produced a card with this on and cloned that clip out, but for some strange reason when I came to post this image I couldnt master cloning it out without leaving a tell tale sign so I gave up.

All works here for me - far better than just a record shot too.
