I've just been notified that by Canon that the 2 events in London this week to showcase the 1Ds3 have been cancelled.
I think Canon need to be doing some confidence building at this time, and this is not the way to do it. Makes me think that the problems with the 1D3 have been carried over into the 1Ds3.
The one in Nottingham has not been cancelled but moved to the 11th Dec 2007.
I hope it has more to do with availiability as the original date for Nottingham at Calumet was the 29th Nov. I also know the person who is reviewing the camera for EOS magasine has not received the review camera yet.

I thought the problems with the MKIII have been fixed with the fw v1.1.3 and the sub mirror hw fix? I have a non fixed sub mirror MKIII and have been happy with the AF performance apart from the issues addressed with the firmware v1.1.3 fix.
FW v1.1.3:-
2/Fixes a phenomenon involving not being able to release the shutter.
Depending on the timing at which the AF-ON button and shutter release button are pressed, in rare cases the shutter could not be released; but this phenomenon has been fixed.
3/ Improves AF tracking in specific conditions.
a) Improves AF tracking when shooting outdoors in bright environments.
b) Improves AF tracking of low-contrast subjects.
I'm seeing very positive things on a lot of forums post fw v1.1.3 so IMO things are looking up

David, I was referring to Phil's Quote "Makes me think that the problems with the 1D3 have been carried over into the 1Ds3." Hopefully all the fixes which have been applied to the 1D MKIII would have been applied to the 1Ds MKIII?
I have to say that having shot about 300 images I am impressed - but still haven't done the AF-Servo just no light and time - roll on the weekend/or RG's comments
