A detail of Lincoln Creek - captured during a light rain (along a detour in my fall trip this year). I'll call it the Alien Grotto. I've never been so paranoid of falling into a deep, dark place than I was shooting this ...

I'm not so sure I'd be as paranoid about falling in as I would be about not being able to get back out!
I like the way the dark swirls in the rock echo the erosion pattern. My eye wanders around the picture looking for something to anchor itself on - not sure if that's a Good Thing or a Bad Thing...

Cool rock detail! Nice earthy colors too. Another winner!

That's an interesting shot, Jesse, but im not sure about the comp, for the reasons mentioned by Les--the cascade is hidden, the pool seems like an afterthought. Sorry.

I agree with Les and Stan. I think this comp has a lot going for it but I too look for a place to land. May I suggest a crop from mid center to upper left corner to focus on that little cascade and the log. The patterns in the rock are way cool!

Great minds think alike? I shot this in June, also under a steady rain.
Believe it or not, I was here with an ex-girlfriend and another couple probably 17 years ago, and some locals were actually jumping off the edge into the largest pool below. Then my GF's friend's BF got a wild hair and took the plunge. I've got pictures of it somewhere. Crazy! You wouldn't get me near that edge or near that icy water.
Of course, the best part of the trip was my GF's friend's massive tata's, barely contained by her tiny tank top.

Ooooh, cool. I like yours much better.
Wow. The thought of jumping in there is absolutely nuts. Just crazy.

very nice, love those wet rocks
I've been there when I went to the Maroon Bells, thought it was quite cool of a place, but didn't get any good photos of it, I tried though

I give the edge to yours, Jesse, it seems more concise and grounded.

It's tough to get a sense of scale here, and that may be why I'm struggling with this one. Cool scene with nice shapes and interesting patterns, but it's not resonating with me like most of yours do.

"Cool scene with nice shapes and interesting patterns, but..." echoes my own sentiments. Thanks for all comments. It's quite a sight to see in person ... highly recommended. I DON'T recommend jumping into the abyss however.
