Wild duck + REPOST
One from the local canal. I just like the way that all the bird's colours are matched in the background.

Very nice Eric. Like the comp here. Works really well for such a busy frame for some reason. Is it a female Shoveller? :toast:

Thanks Graham, the bill does look quite large doesn't it, but it is a mallard.

As Graeme has already said, it works well despite it being so busy :toast:

If this is a full frame image I might be tempted to crop it a bit, and maybe even go a bit silly and get the blurr tool in PS on those reeds just to push them back a bit.

It shows the subject nicely :wavey:

This works very well for me even though the first thing that strikes you is that it's quite busy. The leaves on the surface of the water and the dying reed stems give it context and even a time of year. Well done!

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Do you think I have got the BG blur about right in this repost Andy, only I've not really tried it before? I used lens blur was that the right one?Sorry for all the questions, but I'm going to get my pictures better one way or the other.

I actually prefer the original, I don't go for blurring the bg it always looks obvious. the original is how you will often see them..
