Most of you have probably seen pictures of these backcountry falls before. I was going for a different perspective here. Does this comp. work well for you? Thanks.

Marc, I'm not personally familiar with these falls, but I do like the perspective you chose as the falls wander back and forth nicely across the center of the frame. I think the exposure time of 1 sec was a good choice too. This is a great image. If I were to be uber picky, the leaves on the right that are closer up look a bit distorted, probably from the 16mm, but I can tell that the comp required that they be placed there. Normally I wouldn't even bring something up as trivial as that, but I know you're shooting at a high calibur. Glad to see you made it to the southwest to get some of your personal take on the area.

This is a wonderful image Marc and I think you did a great job on the comp. I really like the diagonal of the falls and the way it pulls my eye into the image. The right side seems to advance, while the left side recedes.

You really had a good water flow that year!

I knew you will bring a great shots from there, Marc. Unlike Steve, I really like the leaves on the right side. That nicely completed the composition which I like a lot. (beeter than Adam's)
Considering how low the water flow was, you got maximum from that nice spot. It looks very beautiful, smooth and natural. Once again, great work!
That was this year Marc, October 26; thanks for the kind words Gabi.......

I got there the day after. I took another look at your version and I'd say that the more compressed perspective and longer shutter definitely give the appearance of more water flow. I actually prefer your composition, however. You might do some color balance work on it though. I ended up taking this shot as an afterthought to some other comps. below that I liked a bit more. Now I wish I'd spent more time with this one too.
I like both versions. It's interesting to see the subtle differences in composition and processing.

Adam, what kind words? Did I offend you because I like Marc's composition better than yours?
I am so sorry! Your photo is beautiful too and I will keep my mouth shot next time. I apologize.

Marc, i have to say i recently visited your website and with the latest images youve gotten, i believe you have raised the quality of your photography up a notch (if that's possible). This shot is no exception, i really can find nothing to critique. So, post something sub-par so i can rip it to shreds

Great shot! I really like the colors and the low angle.
