I was wondering if Adobe has a CR2 RAW download for Adobe CS yet? I don't want to upgrade yet to CS3. Thnx MM

Unfortunately the 40D will not be supported in the version of ACR included with Photoshop CS. It is no longer being updated.

Despite the fact that most Canon raw formats have the extension CR2, they are still camera-specific so the converter needs to support the camera model that produced the file.

One thing you can do is download the latest DNG converter, convert your CR2 files to DNG, and then load them into Photoshop CS.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give that a try until I upgrade to CS3.

Mark, I don't want to be spending your money for you. However, an upgrade to CS3 from a licensed CS is about $200. I think when it is possible for you it is well worth the extra outlay. The new ACR is great and the 16 bit file handling in all functions is also a big plus. Adobe will upgrade CS3 for some time to come.

Just a thought. :wavey:
