I went up to Cheyenne Canyon this morning to enjoy the fresh snow. It finally feels like winter.

The water in this little fall couldn't decide whether it wanted to be solid or liquid.

That second shot is a really nice find. I might crop a lot from the right and a little from the bottom to really draw attention to the most interesting part of the scene.

I also like the second one. Nice capture! I would maybe crop a little from the right side to remove the two white foamy spots that seem distracting somehow. Otherwise, I like it a lot, Mel!

Yeah, the second one is very nice. I would suggest cropping from the right until you achieve a square photo. Very nice find.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one in the canyon today, although I think you preceded me by a few hours. I'll be posting some of my Sunday shooting later. I agree that the second shot is very cool, and very unique, too!

Thanks guys. It was a very enjoyable though cold morning.

I'm not exactly sure I was supposed to be in the canyon when I was. The gate was closed on the inbound side with a road closed sign. I took a little detour through the open exit lane. There were only two other cars in the whole park. I figured if someone asked, I'd tell them I thought the person on duty to open the gate was late, but I didn't end up seeing anyone.

Oh, you little law-breaker! Yup, that meant the park was closed, which they tend to do when there's that much ice on the winding road. I just drop in from the top. I don't recall how long you've lived here, so if you need directions, let me know.

I know the route in from Gold Camp and that is the way I normally enter the park. But this morning I thought it might be better to go in from the Cheyenne Rd entrance. In fact I was somewhat concerned that the Gold Camp route might be closed, but I noticed today that there are a number of private residences inside the park and along the eastern end of Gold Camp that I think would keep them from closing the road. I think I'll stick to the Gold Camp entrance.

Very 'cool' feel. Nice. I like the waterfall the best.
My wife and I drove up to Goose Creek in the Lost Creek Wilderness. About to download my pics. We had the trail all to ourselves. It was awesome. Glad you got out too!

Cool shots Mel (pardon the pun). I also prefer the second one and agree with the cropping suggestions above.
