Ponderosa Tempura
Hiking Saturday on the Doudy Draw trail near Boulder, everything was covered with an ice crust, while snow steadily increased. The Flatirons were completely concealed by the low cloud bank.

This spot usually overlooks the Flatirons. I liked the mood, though.

I love that name! These are both stunning, but I especially like the first one, with its in-your-face battered pine boughs.

That first one is impressive. I've never seen ice crust quite that dramatic. I might crop a bit from both the left and right sides to draw more attention to the central icy boughs.

Wow, that first image is very striking, Dave and a great creative name!

That's some pretty impressive hoar frost! reminds me of the scenes from the observatory on Mt Washington.

Oh man, you're making me homesick, Dave. I'm sure I would've been up there. The weather is great here in OR - lots of fog and rain - but this is even better. Both are really nice, but that first one really is striking!

I reall like the first one, it looks like the tree is exploding. Excellent.
