Took advantage of the one day respite from all the storms on Sunday to photograph in the San Juans. All the snow is just unbelievable given that its not even Christmas yet. The views are just other-worldly...something that a photograph just can't convey. Unfortunately, the transitions between storm clearings and arrivals both happened in the overnight hours so the interesting atmospherics that come along with both eluded me. It wasn't all bad as what I was left with was a picture postcard type day that really accentuated mother nature's new white coat. The first shot here was taken at Trout Lake near Lizard Head pass.

Beatiful stuff Guy,
You are really taking advantage of your new home location.
My two favorite shooting times this year were in the San Juans.
Great job! Keep 'em coming.

What a great collection! I love #1, with those incredible ribs of clouds overhead, and the Engineer Mountain shot is a classic. The muley is also really nice. They're all great, these are just the ones that are great-plus to me.

Guy, All are very, very nice!!! I really like the clouds in the first one. I also like the open creek with all the snow in the second one. The mountains aren't to shabby either. You definitely have more snow than we have in Mpls.

I love 1 and 4, awesome mountain scenes! I think you could take the contrast down just a hair.

Great group of images here Guy. I love the first one at Trout Lake. I was there shooting one blustery day this fall, and it's great to see how it's been transformed by winter. Incredible clouds in that shot. I agree with Todd as well about the Engineer shot - Classic!
