Well I've actually taken a shot of something that can't scamper off on me
I was out filling some feeders this afternoon at one of my sites, whilst I was sitting watching the cormorants I suddenly felt a strange compulsion to photograph the reflections on the far bank - weird for me that is
Only had the walk-about 1DII+400 f5.6 so my options were somewhat limited.
I took a few but somehow they didn't really seem to look as I imagined they would in the chimping screen, then I had the idea of going 'ARHH' on the lens-protect - instant soft-focus
1DII + 400mm F5.6
HH at 1/125th @ f5.6
ISO 100
Note to self: see GP about upping medication
Thanks for looking

ay andy i can almost smell the bacon butty you had just eaten looking at this. is that a dust blob on the sensor in the top right corner or a bread crumb?
have you tried contrasting it up on a b/w version? i think that might give it something or other.

Hi Andy,
I like the way the reflections are rippled giving an arty feel, it looks almost like two images been put together and not one (if you know what i mean) Anyway interesting image that I think works pretty well
Well spotted
Regards
Rob

I like it Andy. A man after my own heart. Rules are made to be broken.

OH MAN, I would pay money for a lake like that here in Holland. When I sqeeze my eyes I can see myself floating in my floating hide photographing some Crebes
Well done, lovely scene.
Great... nuff said... next time hows about justvthe reflections?

that looks very familiar, is it Delamere ?
nice shot, have you ever considered using the rule of thirds ?

Hi Andy well I can see how the reflections attracted your attention. But it doesn't quite work for me - I would go for just the reflections and up the sat and contrast a little. The 'soft filter' effect is rather pleasing.

Okay then - just the reflections on a pano with increased contrast and saturation
I'd never have thought of doing that to be honest - but I think it looks cool in an arty abstract kindda way
Does this mean I've got to call everyone 'luvvy' and 'darling' now
Edwin - I do pay, £65 a year for 365 day access, next year I'm thinking of getting a family permitt, so if you are over here mate you can pretend to be my missus
