From Sunday in the Mount Hood wilderness area.... spent some time at a small stream and found this branch surfing the wave..... it took over 100 shots to get this one that was sharp enough.... the water was moving and so was this branch !

Any suggestions on improvements or why this doesn't work for you would be very much appreciated.

The way the branches drag in the water, I'm surprised you got the shot at all! My favorite part of the photo is the hinted at rocks below the water; I like the way the water flows over them and blurs them. The ice and snow on the branches is nice too. I do wish the branch at the top was a little less blurred, but again am impressed you got what you did.

I think John W summed it up well. I do find that top branch distracting in how much movement is going on with it. Yet with fast moving water and a branch like this, and a slower shutter speed it is pretty good what you ended up with.

Over a hundred shots, now that's perseverance. The largest ice-encased branch is in perfect focus.
