I haven't posted anything in a while or commented as much as I would of liked but now looking to pull my finger out!!

This is from earlier in the week at a local reserve, had to find something to point the camera at whilst waiting for something a bit more elusive to fly closer, which it didn't! However it is still around as Prince Harry hasn't visited!

Any pointers most welcome.

Hi Gavin nice image of the bird and a good BG. On my screen it looks a tad soft also it would look better on a different post which I know is not easy :toast:

Hi Gavin

Nice shot of a stonechat,if its a certain RSPB reserve I find 2-3.30 best as it tends to quarter in front of the hide but still a bit hit and miss(Nice royal comment by the way!).

Cheers

Nice comp, pose and lighting Gavin :toast: but it looks soft here too, try a pass or two of USM at 30, 0.3, 0 - that should make it pop just nicely :wavey:

A nice shot, that would be even better if it was a little bit sharper. The face looks in shadow to me as well, but the catchlight makes up for that a bit. Not quite there for me.

Thanks for the comments, now realised that I converted the photo to jpeg without sharpening!! Doh!
