I thought I would post one more shot of this bird. It might be a bit to busy for some but you have to take what you can get most of the time. It appears that it is very rare for these birds to still be about this time of the year and to add to this so I have been informed there have only been three previous sightings of this bird in cambridgeshire the last being 1979 so luck was on my side. It was certainly a good way to celebrate my birthday and it is one that I will definitely remember.

Nice comp Dave and very well exposed
Pity the bird is facing away from you but that's just one of those things
My only slight nit would be to ask if the berries were really that shade of dull red, perhaps you might have a very slight blue cast in there.

Very nice composition. I much prefer these environmental shots to those of the bird in a blurred background. Not too busy for me.

I'm with you there Graham. I appreciate the skills required and the quality of lone bird shots, but the background says a lot about a bird and its habits. This is another quality picture of a rarity. If I have a nit it would be that it is facing the wrong way, but with chances at species like this, so few and far between you have done a great job Dave.
