I've started making my first prints from my 3800 on Crane Museo Silver Rag and am thoroughly impressed!!

I have an 11x22 pano that i need to have mounted locally and he uses a hot press to mount the images. Does anyone have experience with using a hot press and this paper? This is for a customer and I don't want it damaged or reduce the print longevity. Thanks!
I'm really liking this printer!!

Cory,

Dry mounting a rag paper should not present a problem if the person mounting the print pays careful attention to the recommended temperature and platen pressure for the paper and dry mount tissue. "Seal" brand tissue is one of the best.

I have some B&W prints that I made and mounted 30 years ago using this method and have had no problems with either the mount separating, discoloration of the print, or longevity.

Sounds like the 3800 printer is working well for you!

Good morning PB. I've used the dry mount on epson enhanced matte as well as on traditional b&w rc papers in the past with success. Just not sure about this coating on the silver rag. Should be fine.

I was a little concerned with how my first prints would look based on previous issues with my 1280. I was pleasantly surprised with my results using canned profiles for epson ultra prem. luster and the silver rag. I thought the prem luster was good, but then printed the silver rag and it made the premium luster not look so good anymore! I'm very happy with the results so far. I can't wait to really dial it in with some custom profiles. Probably after the holidays I'll get some spare time to inquire about the custom profiles.

Thanks for the reply PB.

I used to think Silver Rag was pretty good but after trying Harman FB Gloss I am done with it.
