Not been able to get out to shoot much this year- hoping for a better 2008.
First time I've seen this species. There were about 5 of them, along with a few chaffinches, high in big beech trees. Unfortunately this is a tiny part of the original frame- just a record shot.
Nikon D200, 500mm AI-P f/4 with TC-14B
f/5.6, 1/250, ISO 320

Well Ben - it's one more Brambling record shot than I've got

Record shot may be Ben, but still very nice to see one, I know they are around locally but not laid eyes on one yet this year.
I don't mind the shot as is. This is, after all, a nature photography forum and that's how you see it sometimes - up in the trees.

Ben
I'm with you 100% show it as it is a nature shot means just that. Well done.

It doesn't have to be a frame filling shot all of the time. I think this is a wonderful enviro shot. It's just the way we see the Bramblings often together with the Chaffinch.
Nice work.

Still never seen one of these, so that shot would have made my day. The only really off- putting thing for me is the PoV but what can you do? Nice winter sun as well.
