Hey folks,
Sorry I haven't been very active in the forum lately. I have been checking in a couple of times a day just to make sure you all are behaving. I thought I would let you all know what's been going on with my battle with this darn Cancer (It's been over ten months already since I was diagnosed}. I finished my last Folfox 4 (chemo) treatment 12 days ago. It really knocked me down Mentally and physcially. The Dr. said it might take me up to a year to recover and get back to normal. I saw the surgeon on Friday and besides some scar tissue she got rid of, she said everything looks good. I go in for more tests at the first of the year and if everything is 'Hunky Dory" as my Oncologist say's, I will have my final surgery for my reversal at the end of January or the first of Febuary. I'm looking really forward to getting out and enjoying the "great outdoors'. If your interested, here is a link to my blog my wife has been keeping updated so people can keep track of what's going on. Happy holidays to you all! http://home.comcast.net/~elundh/site/

Thanks for the update Erik, and glad to hear that things are moving in the right direction with your treatment. Unfortunately, I know so many people that have had cancer (and I am sure many others are the same) it's just crazy to think about how many people are impacted by this disease today. I wish you all the best on getting back out to the trails real soon!

Hi Erik, we "moderators" are suffering similar ailments so I feel for ya my friend. I think what's been most frustrating is the length of my "recovery". It is still a work in progress and my surgery was back in July. My surgeon told me I'd be back to "normal" (whatever normal is eh.....??!!) in two months!!! HA!!!!

Hang in there my friend and know that we all are with you and support you in this journey!!!

That's a long road you've been on, Erik - thanks for always putting on such a brave face around here, too (including our offline exchanges). Also, thanks for posting occasional details of your journey. Though it might sound cliche, it's also true that you might well have saved somebody's life by putting your own experience out there. Good luck to you in the coming year!
