These photos were taken the morning of the flood, about 6 hours before the Nehalem River and Rock Creek had actually run over their banks. These were taken shortly after I had decided NOT to go to work that day because of the water level in the Nehalem.

I have a few shots of the actual flooding that I haven't processed yet. I'll get them posted this week.

p.s. these were auto-processed using Canon's Camera Window software. I didn't get anything that was print-worthy.

Curtis,
What a horrible mess. I really feel for the folks that lost everything. Is the lady who lost here home and diner going to be able to rebuild? Her story hit me the hardest. How close was your house to the flooding?

I'll second that. Riveting photos there; words just wouldn't do it.
I sure hope those affected by this have decent insurance coverage. It appeared like a few may have lost everything.

Wishing everyone west of the mountains a safe and relatively dry holiday. Stay afloat.

Terrific and terrible photos, Curtis. I'll say again that I'm glad you're alright. So much suffering in OR and WA as a result of such a monster storm. The part of the weather system that parked over Chehalis was coined as a "once in four or five hundred year event." Thanks for sharing your pics.
