Ponderosa.....
...pinecones. Found these adjacent to the Icicle Creek, Wenatchee NF.

D2Xs (every bit as good as the D3 at base ISO), 105, f16

The gray cone stands alone. It definely makes this image. Without the color difference, I don't think it would stand up. Nice find and comp.

Mark,
This would make a nice Xmas card. Ditto Jim's remarks.

I agree with the comments already said. Nice piece Mark. I would maybe give a slight bump the contrast and shadows. They look perfectly placed, if you did that or it was nature, either way it's good!

Nice eye, Mark. From my perspective, I'd darken it a tad.

Mark: Looks like the floor of the Icicle to me. I agree with Trevor.

Great patterns and colors, especially with the one standout of a different color. Love Icicle Creek.

Great find and compositin. I agree with others about darkening this a little and finding some contrast.

well-seen and photographed! I think darkening only the mid-tones and shadows (only a little) would make this pop.

This is a great find, Mark.. I meant to comment sooner, but am just nearly 100% after two weeks battling the flu....

I agree with Curtis comment on darkening the midtones. Maybe a little more room at the bottom? A nice razor sharp image.
