I'd like to hear your feelings on the brushy framing on this one. I have my own but will keep quiet for now to not lead any opinions. Thanks in advance!

Hi Larry. Honestly, it feels a little cramped to me. Too much foliage from the tree and in the water that it's distracting me from the overall scene. The bottom left and top right might be ok without the top left but all of them is too much here.

Larry: I like the framing idea, but the branchlet on the left I would have lopped off first. The top branch isn't true black and its lower edge has a blue flare. Also branches are soft focus.
Thanks guys. The top left with the lightning bolt was just too much to clone out. The soft focus might be dirty optics in the scanner... a lot of the darker scenes come out looking fogged.

Larry, to be brutally honest, it's boring. There are nice elements here, there is the hint of compelling, but as it, sorry, it's quite snapshotish.

IMHO and all.....boring hell, it's serene. This image conveys something; if what it conveys overlaps with what a million snapshotters try to bring home, more power to the image and its capturer. IMHO again, our dazzling array of tech capacities now allow us to overwhelm the original impulse that brought Larry out in the field in the first place. We can produce images with more precision than our eyes ever gave the original viewer, but doing this risks producing over-teched imagines. IMHO, better a good snapshot capture than "a clear image of a foggy idea."
All that being said.....I think I like it better minus about 5% at the bottom....
