Pebble Beach
This image was shot last October at Pebble Beach (State Park--not the golf course) in California. The park is located just south of Pescadero, about 25 miles or so south of San Francisco. The beach is made of lots of rocks and these small polished stones that wash up from the ocean. One could spend a week here and not get bored.

Very colorful. Never seen anything like that in the wild, usually just in little plastic bins in gift shops. Image looks a little soft, definitely be a little more aggressive with the sharpening just before you save it for web display. Also I notice a black square of some sort around that off-white rock above and to the left of center frame that definitely doesn't belong there.

Looks like they are freshly rinsed straight from the rock tumbler! I agree with Bryan on the image needing to be sharper. Interesting find though.

Jack, it looks like you individually varnished each stone before photographing them, they're so shiny and beautiful.
My parents took me to Pebble Beach when I was a kid but have no memory of these. I guess I was busy looking for sand crabs.

I hope we are not cloning rocks in the image without declaring it.

No cloans but increased saturation

Just kidding. But what is the black square under the whitish rock as Bryan indicates?

That white pebble was really "hot" so I tried to darken it somewhat and forgot to fix the surroundings ( I used the rectangular marquis tool to select the area. That's what happens when I work too late at night.
I appreciate Bryan pointing it out!
