I am posting this invite to all CSNP members, please post your best image/s of 2007 in this thread. Gale Rainwater found some good threads on PNWNP forum:
http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/bbs.cgi?a=vm&mr=24670&b=vf15&st=0&la=3110&ph=0&sid=1108&u=1108
and on RMNP forum:
http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/bbs.cgi?a=vm&mr=24733&b=vf10&st=0&la=2573&ph=5&sid=20585&u=20585

Their members are showing their best of 2007. Gale thought this was a good idea for CSNP and I agree soooooo let's follow their lead, show us your favorites from 2007!!

I really like the Boxley Church image Tim - it's a classic. And, I think it would make a great black and white!

This image was one I took at Woods Prairie in the spring, and became the SWMCC Color Print of the Year (much to my surprise).

So far, so good, Tim and Tim. Thought I'd chime in before Tim Ferrell or Tim Mulholland or you Tims would have a monopoly. Relocating to Kentucky sure put a damper on my shooting through the middle of the year, but I've kept up with everybody's wonderful stuff here, and have shot an image or two. By the way, the PNWNP and the RMNP threads on this are really worth a look. Some great stuff from out west. Here's one of my favorites from the year, from my trip to the Gulf Coast in May. Can't wait to see more from all of you. Happy Holidays, everybody!

I'll throw my $0.02 worth in here. Great images all around guys and fantastic personal choices. :toast:

My selection is from the summer trip to Maine, which was an amazing experience. And the memories I'll have associated with the morning I took this image of the West Quoddy Lighthouse at sunrise is part of the reason I selected this one for my "Best Of".

Looking forward to seeing all the fantastic work yet to come. Thanks for suggesting this Gale, by the way .... where's yours!

Two of my favorites of 2007 are
Pheasant Feathers - originally posted here then in PhotoArt and received an EP in that category.

The second is "Storm Dragon", for which I took 2nd place in the NNL photocontest. I thank everybody here once again for the help you've given me this year. The help has been much appreciated. Here's to a successful and happy 2008.

Congratulations Tim .E on your sales of the Boxley Church prints. I like it too.

No sales for me, I do this only for my own pleasure, but this is one I think turned out well from Chase County Park during a period of wet early summer weather.

Great images everybody! I made four early-morning trips around the summer solstice to Mount Magazine hoping to catch a decent sunrise (do you know how early the sun gets up in July?!!!!). I kept trying shots that utilized this small cedar tree, and on the last morning some heavy fog proved to be the missing ingredient.

Happy Holidays, y'all!

Nice shots everyone! I'm going through an "abstract phase" and this is one of my favorites from a Fall trip to the SW. Happy Holidays to all!

Nice photographs, everyone! Houston's only ice storm was last January and I took this photo in my backyard... I call it: "Make Mine an Orange Crown On Ice." Orange-crowned Warbler (Vermivora celata).

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes to You All for many great photos in the New Year!

Best regards,

Dick

Great images. Here is one a little different.

This spooky image was taken on the Robe Canoe Bayou in January of this year.

Best wishes for 2008.

Wow, great images, everyone!

This is my favorite from 2007. My original travel plans for this day got rained out, so in desperation for something to shoot even though it was terribly overcast, went to Lake Shawnee to check out the lilly pond. I was rewarded with this little guy who posed for me for the longest time, until it started to rain. I'm glad my plans got changed!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and that 2008 will be happy and prosperous for all!

Angela,
Love your frog, the pink really sets it off.

I don't know how I missed this post, but you all have shown some really nice work! And I hope everyone is having a great holiday :toast: .

I must say that I have had the daylights scared out of me for the past 3 weeks after visits to my doctor, ultrasound technologist, and urologist (in that order) all in one day. I'll skip all the boring details over the last few weeks, but I just found out about an hour ago that the results of my prostate biopsy from last Friday were normal. :jump: :jump: :jump:!

For what it's worth, all you guys 45 or over should not avoid having your PSA tested, along with a DRE . Prostate cancer is very treatable if you catch it early, but it can also kill you if it is in an advanced stage. Dan Fogelberg died from it just a couple of weeks ago. He was 56. Unfortunately, many of the symptoms don't appear until it is in an advanced stage. And you should EAT RIGHT, which means lots of fiber, antioxidant-containing vegetables (coffee is full of 'em too), fruit, and fish.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Great news Bill! I'm glad to hear you've gotten a clean bill of health. And good thing about the coffee thing, I seem to remember you having a big mug with you a lot!

Great shots all around gang! I tip my hat to some wonderful and diverse images! :toast: :toast: Hope there's more to come!

This little Snowy Egret was being a bully, chasing other birds away. When he went behind the tall grasses I suddenly pictured this very composition. He was sooo quick, it's amazing I caught this image. You gotta love 'em. Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year.

Not sure if this is my "best". I do like it.

Great shots by everyone! I have been traveling quite a bit during the holidays and just noticed this thread.

I am not sure this is my best shot but I kind of like it and it brings back fond memories from our spring gathering. This was the first waterfall we came to on our hike in Boen Gulf in April.

for some reason I cant figure how to post an image here?

Mark - Looks like your subscription may have expired...they removed the little "NPN Member" icon at the bottom. When that happens, you can't post any photos.

ah I see that... time to renew!

This particular image is one of my favorites of the summer. The flower head is a bit past prime though but I like it anyway. I am stumped though I have not been able to identify what the flower is, growing up I always thought it was a clover. I found several clovers in Don Kuez wildflower book but not a match to this one. If anyone can id it I'd be grateful, it's now driving me nuts not knowing. I have enjoyed everyones photography in 2007 and looking forward to more outstanding photos for 2008. I hope everyone has a great photography year!

I think I have already show it, but this is my favorite of the year.
