Hello everyone....
I am passing through your patch soon and would love to spend a few days taking some winter pictures in Yellowstone park.
Can anyone recommend a good wildlife guide for a few days in February??
Thanks
Barry

Are you looking for a guide service or a guide book?
For a guide, I've seen Dale Franz and Jess Lee mentioned.
I've seen a reference book for photography in Yellowstone, but I can't remember the name and I don't think it would apply for winter wildlife stuff.
I think the concensus is that you'll probably want to be based out of Gardiner if you want to do wildlife in the winter, but I'm by no means a wildlife photography expert.

If you're talking books, the "Photographer's Guide to Yellowstone & the Tetons" by Joseph Lange is a nice addition to anyone's photography library.

www.photographamerica.com has photo guides for many parts of the country.

I second the book by Joseph Lange - well worth the $$$.

The Lange book was the same I was thinking of.

I'll second Mel's suggestion.
Jess Lee at www.jesslee.com is a Yellowstone local who guides professionally, not just in Yellowstone but in many other parts of the country as well. He is very knowledgable about all things involving photography and Yellowstone, especially wolves and bears, check out his website. If something good is happening in Yellowstone, wildlife-wise, you can bet Jess knows about it.
I can also recommend Dale Franz (www.franzfoto.com), a local Yellowstone photog, living in Cody,WY as a guide for any photographer looking for exceptional knowledge of the area and its wildlife.
You can't go wrong with either one.
