Richmond and the deer rut.......... AKA on the job
If its not a deer, it will be a nature photographer looming out of the mist

I was quite chuffed with this, my very first shot taken in anger with the Oly 300F2.8 at the NPN Richmond meet. Taken from the car park whilst waiting for zero hour and chatting with several members. Natural light, no PP whizardry, a small compositional crop to remove foreground clutter and away we go.

Oly E-1, Oly E300 F2.8, iso400 (hadn't even reset the camera...) 1/4000s at F2.8, tripod, AS B1 and W. Sidekick

Have a great Xmas everyone, and looking forward to meeting more of you next year at the NPN field trips.

oh forgot, definately not the rap singer AKA, but possibly Paula on the job

Instantly thought of Nigels shot from the other day when I saw this Mike - lovely atmospheric image (and if it is Paula, a lovely subject too  ) - top shot :toast:

Funny, I sometimes see an image that cries out to be a frame in a video sequence - this is one such image - slow telephoto pan, framerate slowed by 40% - the photographer going about their job......cut to CU of a tripod leg touching the ground...wide angle reversal up to show the 'togy framing the subject then cut to a running deer, pan right then 'shutter effect audio' and insert Nigels shot.....hey presto...and all for about 12 seconds of footage - just another 49mins and 48 secs to go and we've got an episode of the Natural World in the can   :jump: :jump:

Nice one Mike :toast:

Bloody wildlife photographers...they get everywhere! Thats an ace shot, although Paula looks like she is getting attacked by the tripod!

Looks like you got great conditions for the meetup. Really nice light and mist. Tristan
