Finally getting a chance to post something again after a really crazy month of December. A project at work has consumed much of my time and attention leaving little left for photography. After tomorrow, I have two weeks off. Can't wait!
Found this group of big horns on the way back from my morning hike out to hidden lake during this summer's trip to Glacier NP. I like this shot alot, but I'm torn as to whether the other big boys distract from the main subject. Any thoughts?
BTW...there were about 20 of these guys together in a tight group. Seeing one or two would have been impressive, but the shear quantity of the heard blew my mind. Needless to say, I went crazy with the camera.

I think if you were able to move a couple of feet to your right, it would have created separation between the crossing horns of the two right bighorn sheep and you may have blocked the view to the sheep in the rear.

Hans: I'm no expert on this aspect of photography but I sure appreciate a great shot! The focus is spot on the big ram and he really has the look of authority.

Hans,
Don't you love these guys! I would try & get ( cloan out) the shite spit in the sky if possible. Otherwise, you did a good job in not so easy light.
I do a workshop every December over in NE Wyoming ( outside Cody) and photograph these guys. Next year will be 12 years in a row and I never get tired of them!.

The front guy is great Hans! Yet I do agree with what has been said in that the comp is not the best overall. I like the front guy and the one in the BG just behind him. The others do distract some, but maybe if you burn down the other areas it would bring more focus on the front one. I am not much of a wildlife photographer so just a thought!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I'll play around with some background blurring and burning to see how it changes the feel.

With these type of shot's , you have to take what you can get. The rams could run off and you could have come away with nothing. I like the fact that you were able to get a such a good shot at such close range. Nice work!
