Taking inspiration from the PNW forum I thought it would make an intersting thread if everyone posted what they feel to be their best or most personally memorable image(s) of 2007. Look forward to seeing your images...
Tristan
This is getting a huge numbe of hits, so thought it would be worth featuring for a few more days ( The mods)
One of my personal favourites - "Alone with the cold of the Stone". Taken in late June whilst camping on Ingleborough.

What a great idea, and what a flying start too, This should be a very spectacular thread!

Hi All,
Good thread Tristan!! This is my favourite from this year, I have so many memories of a Summer watching these fantastic birds, I hope they breed again in 2008.
A merry Christmas to all and a prosperous New Year

A good idea, so I'll throw my tuppence in too.
Probably not the best technically, but from extensive research, I thik it is the only photo in existence (together with my others in this series) of this behaviour amongst British seals.
Best wishes

This one gave me great satisfaction as it was taken at my local gravel pit - I planted the reed bed 7 or 8 years ago where this was taken when I was a member of the conservation group managing the reserve. - Give a little and take a little. The gravel pit has now been adopted by the local council as a nature reserve.
Two 2007 trip experience memories stand out for me;
Firstly the male wood warbler giving it all in front of 8 of us on the NPN Elan Valley trip - (Tom you can pay me later for continually plugging NPN trips ....)
Secondly climbing the equivelent of Ben Nevis with my camera gear and sitting amongst a colony of marmots for a couple of hours in Austria on my 50th birthday - but I am a bit mental at times

This one is mine, taken during a truly memorable trip to Svarlbard in the Summer.
Seasons greeting to all NPN'ers.

2007 will be remembered by me as a year when i didn't take very many images at all, due to having my D2x stolen and it taking most of the year to get the insurance to pay up!!! most of my stuff from this year has been underwater video. here's a shot from the surface, having sold my S2 housing to finance the upgrade to the D2x, then having it stolen, so back to the S2 with no housing, the only shots i could take were on land......here's to a better '08.
great images guys. humbled to amongst such great company. wishing you all an amazing next year.
regards,
mark.

Mine I think was this Male Linnet, why? I haven't seen many of them about this year.
My most memorable experience was watching and photographing Roe deer during their rutting period this year. I ended up spending dozens and dozens and dozens of sessions usually at dawn and dusk just watching them, rarely with a camera with me, just trying to build up a picture of their individual personalities and their behaviour.
I eventually managed to photograph lots of different behaviour with the most memorable occasion being when I managed to photograph them mating just fifty feet from me, a shot I was particularly pleased to get.
The real high point though, wasn't photographing them at all but just watching and learning about them, I learnt something new about them each and every time I went out and felt extremely priveledged to be able to witness their intimate courting behaviour.
This image just reminds me of a very enjoyable experience, and to me captures the beauty of the Roe species, and also the relaxed and tollerent nature of this particular doe.
Personally what an excellent year, both in terms of knowledge and friendship, set against great locations.
Cheers
Steve

Haven't really got a favourite, but this one has sold quite well this Christmas for me (without the seasonal headline too).

I too haven't managed much photography this year, but this would have to be my highlight. A stunning walk through the Brecon Beacons.
Merry Christmas to everyone!

I spent a couple of weeks in the Shetland Isles in July and had some great weather which is rare. This picture of a Great Skua attacking these Gannets is my favourite of the year.

What a great idea.
I know its soft and I know its been shot through badly scratched perspex, but somehow it is the only picture I took in 2007 with any feeling in it and I love it because of that. Next year my motto is "more feeling".
A happy Christmas to you all.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a productive New Year Cheers

Nice idea!
For me, I think it is probably this one, as it gave me the best laugh rather than its technical merit! The bird stayed there while I faffed around finding another camera to shoot it with! (K10D + 50-200mm zoom.)
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

To be honest i dont think i have anything as good as those above. But here is mine never the less.
Merry christmas all and happy Yule to those which celebrate that too.
This is probably my favourite image of those I have taken this year, simply because it was previsualised as to what the final result would look like. The actual image, as recordered by the camera, is slightly different.

Not many for me to choose from in the "nature" category.
This is one from the beginning of the year and one of many chaffinch shots I got then.

PS
John Chapman, your polar bear shot would be my pick from all I've seen here this year. Stunningimage

I don't know if this is up to the high standard here, but it was one shot I was happy with because it was the only full shot I managed of this bird in about 8 hours of trying, still had to take unwanted branches out though
Cheers

Easily my favorite image from a session earlier in the year. The rest of the year has been all work and no play

Probably the most un-impressive Red Deer photo ever posted here but it means more to me that anything I've taken at Bradgate Park because it's a totally wild deer photographed one misty October morning on the edge of Cannock Chase. There's loads of deer on the Chase and you can find signs of their presence all over the place but actually seeing one let alone photographing one is a rare event.

I think that's my the best pic of 2007

Sorry - I haven't go any native stuff worth posting, but this my favourite anyway as it was the sort of image I had hoped to get on a recent trip to the Masai Mara. We spent every morning and evening trying to find a cat in nice light and it all came together on the last night. (This seems to have got a bit noisy in the downsizing)
