Horizontal view of Dog Creek Falls. Wondering if it looks better horizontal or vertical. Any other critiques are also appreciated.

I like the Horz. 1st one . In the vert. one, the rock pulls me to strongly over there and I can't tell which way the the stream is flowing out of the frame. I like the color in the stream and the cold white of the snow/frost.

I really dig your horizontal take on this secluded falls. The color and exposure is sweet! This brings back some great memories of my last visit there..!

Larry: Both crops are nice, but I strongly prefer the horizontal one. The elements feel more unified, and the reds work better. A beautiful image.

I prefer the horizontal one too, for the reasons mentioned. Rock seems too intense in the vertical one, and the snow on the leaf isn't terribly attractive in this shot. Plus, I think the inclusion of more of the tree balances the frame better.
The colors do look just a little too strong here, but I know the wetness will bring that out a bit.
