John, Mel, Kalin, Jesse and I ventured up on RRR this morning. The conditions weren't the greatest with the bright blue cloudless sky. But it was great seeing everyone. But man was it a chilly single digit morning + wind.

I wasn't going to post anything since none of my shots really jumped out at me. However it was a beautiful morning. So here is a little pano of sunrise over the north face of Pikes Peak.

If anybody else wants to share what they got it would be fun to see. It was more of a scouting mission for me. There is a lot of great potential along that road.

Just goes to show that, even when conditions aren't Earth-shattering, you can still get some great shots just by getting out with the camera. Certainly better than the ones I didn't get from staying home!

Here is one of my shots.

My jeep has a thermometer that has so far been pretty accurate. It was reading 4F on Rampart Range Road.

And another slightly different interpretation of the sunrise.

Great images! Like the pink hues on the mountains.

Not bad, guys. My camera didn't even make it out of the bag (it's whimpy in the cold!). Guess I shouldn't be so picky!

It was fun to meet up!

it may have been cold, but that sun sure was shining a nice warming light on the mountains

Looks like you guys had some fun at least. Just so you know, it wasn't any warmer at the COS Airport. I was there waiting for a Return flight from Iraq with the incoming troops. This morning at 4 am it was 2 degrees with a 35mph wind. I watched Sunrise while waiting for today's flight before heading over to the Post to cover today's ceremonies! This morning had better clouds though!

Nice stuff! I need to get my butt out of bed a little earlier on my days off!

Well, here is one from my cam. Last on the pod so the glow had moved a bit lower on the hills. Ho-hum, same o,same o... nuttin, special here either. Was way fun though!

Merry Christmas all!

Well, nothing much really happened this morning. Just as I was scouting a location (turned out not that great), a new photographer to the area pulled up with a flat tire and no spare and no jack. I volunteered to help him out, but had a chance to snap off a few before I took him back down to the Springs for a new tire and jack.

Someone (John Shaw?) once told me that if a sunrise just wasn't happening, try turning around. Here's the best I could do given the circumstances.

And another shot as I was headed back to Woodland...

Nice work, fellas....and a good bit of diversity with "nothing happenin".
