I got 'into' Bodie!
Thanks to help from Nelcha, I was able to attend a special Bodie workshop that allowed access to structure interiors. I finally completed much work on the images and have added them to a new gallery on my My Photo Site (under "General/Bodie"). These are scenes not often seen.

Sorry I don't drop in here more often. SO many forums!....

Here's a sampler of a miner's cabin, with a little scenery, too.

Very nice, Jeffrey! The shots are a very nice departure from the usual images of Bodie. it looks like you had some interesting weather and beautiful skies.

Good job!

Lovely work, Jeffrey. After viewing the entire collection one can't help but contemplate on the lives of the residents from years past.

My favorite photo from the set is "Schoolhouse." The interplay of light and shadow and your choice of depth-of-field makes one terrific combination.

Best regards.

Jeffrey,

Some of the finest images of Bodie I've ever seen and certainly all in one place. Fantastic stuff! Did you get ALL those in one trip? Great work!

Well, thank you, all, for the kind comments.

Lon, I had three full days to explore interiors and exteriors extensively in October. Most of them are from that trip. I believe two are from a couple of previous visits when you generally have to stay outside.

Color images were made with a 1Ds and the BW's were made with a Pentax 67.

Very nice collection. A productive 3 days. My favorite is the green bottle in the saloon.

Fine work.

Hi Jeffrey,
Glad you got into the Stamp Mill.
Wasn't that green bottle from the DeChambeau Hotel?
I met Mr. DeChambeau a few years back...
Too bad you couldn't go UP those stairs into the Ballroom!!
The colors in there are really something....
If have found the More depressing the Life..
...the brighter the colors are they surround themselves with.
Nice take on the piano and roulette wheel in the Sam Leon Bar.
..and you know I LOVE that light bulb in the Mortuary.

I am still waiting to hear from Jill if they have set the dates for this next year yet?
I guess Bodie is REALLY under the snow now!!
Anybody got a snowcat we can use to get in for some winter images??
The DC lights are still lit

I am taking names if anyone is interested in going next Oct.
I am also working with the FM_SoCal group so maybe we can
fill the group ourselves ..... that would be REALLY fun!!

in gratitude,
Nelcha
