Hi i was wondering if any of you who have had to send in you 1D MRKIII Have had to pay for the dileverence to and muby from canon or the work shop or if canon have paid it all.
Just got a letteer from canon denmark saying that in my case they will make an exeption and pay the dilleverence both ways, but their normal procedure are to pay one only. don't know if i'm wrong in saying this is bad customer service from a companie like this, when they have the mistake.
Meint, One of my friends who shoots Canon just went through the same thing; the problem is their fault, but they tried to get her to pay for at least one way of the shipping. She convinced them to pay for both ways, stating that it was their fault after all, and they eventually agreed. To me, she shouldn't have had to say a word about paying anything.
Sounds like bad customer service to me, too! I think you better switch to Nikon...okay, I'm just jokin'!!
Good luck with your problem,
Nancy

While I do not own a Mark III it is my understanding that Canon USA will send a shipping label with prepaid bar code for free shipping for repair. The following is downloaded from Canon's site
1. Canon U.S.A., Inc. will use the following procedure to accept EOS-1D Mark III cameras in need of an AF Mirror Adjustment.
a. We have established a dedicated repair center to handle this issue. Repairs will begin on December 3, 2007.
b. Please contact our Canon Customer Support Center (contact information listed below) to register your EOS-1D Mark III for service.
c. The support center will contact you to schedule your appointment to send your EOS-1D Mark III camera to Canon U.S.A., Inc. for service. Due to the anticipated volume, we ask for your continued patience and understanding during this process.
d. All repairs and two-way shipping will be free of charge. Our support center agent will provide you with a pre-paid shipping label before your appointment.
e. Please do not send your camera to our Irvine or Jamesburg Factory Service Centers unless specifically instructed to do so by our support center.
So, they say 2 way shipping will be given by Canon.
The situation could be different in Denmark; I hope it is the same for you.

Canon emailed me a shipping label to the facility and will also be paying shipping back. Had no problems either way.
