Cloud cover was dire but the horizon had a small gap of clear sky so Danny and I started walking at out at 7.20am; sunrise was 8.20am, we where the only two out there.
Isolated the individual seal, got the compass out for the rise sun position, set-up and then waited, sun rose and 10 minutes later it was all over with the rest of the morning (we left at 11am) being overcast.
Carpark was full when we got back to my car.

Early bird gets the seal , very nice. It's always worth getting out on location well before dawn and most other people.
Do you know that you cannot go out to the "banks" unless it is a weekend hence you will be limited to the fence line only.

I was aware of the restriction Tim because of the bombing range but thanks for confirming it. I've got a few free days so I thought I would wander up from Gloucester via Bradgate tuesday, then Doona wednesday, then Martin Mere thursday then Formby friday and then onto Anglesey. If the weather pciks up towards the weekend I may drop back to Doona for the weekend :)
