Here is an image from late autumn in the Uintas . C&C welcome. I don't make resolutions, so I'll just say that I will try to be a NPN member soon. Have a good start to the new year. Go Buckeyes (unlikely, but a man can dream).

That is a serenely beautiful shot, Jeff. Outstanding! And I've never been one of those who thinks a subject's beauty is multiplied by how far it is from civilization. As one of our fellow CNPers once facetiously told me, there are no good photos farther than 100' from a road.

Nice, Jeff. I like the scattered reflection and the serene feel. It looks just a little off level CW but that could be the perspective. Thanks for sharing!

That's a beautifully quiet scene. I love the light and the reflections in the water. I think it works as is, but I'm curious as to how it would have looked if you had panned up a little, including more of the trees and less of the water at the bottom. The reflections are nice, but I think the image would feel better balanced if you brought the snow on the left farther down in the frame, about 1/2 way between where it is now and the bottom of the frame.

Thanks for looking and for the comments.
Kalin - I do see what you mean about possible tilt. I tried to use the tree trunks as my guide, but the way the ice and the bank are going I can see why you would suggest it.

Rick - In the upper left there is some sun in the background through the trees, and it ws approaching quickly. If I panned up I would have had too much of an exposure differential and the view opened up too much. I was hoping for a more condensed and imtimate scene.

Thanks again for the look.

Great shot, Jeff! I agree with Rick on the composition, but I guess you can’t always have it perfect.

Nice shot Jeff. There definitely is a tilt. With reflections its not only jumps out more but also is easier to fix. Pick a specific spot near the center of the photo and make sure it lines up with its reflection in a straight vertical line.

I am a little hard headed. (must be the years of wrestling) Upon further... and further review I concede and the image needs a 1.4 degree tilt CCW. Thanks for all of your patience and input. Just keep telling me, I'll get it eventually.
