Xmas Pheasant
I managed to get out with the cameras for 2 days over the Xmas period but the UK weather was very grey and the animals/birds uncooperative, Only a handful of images taken and this one is the only keeper and even this one isn't as sharp on the face when blown up as i would like

Canon 1D3 500f4

Nice image that needs cropped a bit tighter, to much OOF at the bottom.

Great action shot Dave and like you said, shame it's not as sharp as you'd like. Agree with Tom regards the crop :toast:

Agree about the crop.

But other than that i love it :toast: :toast:

Like it... lose a little from the bottom as said, the action more than makes up for a slight lack of percieved sharpness....

Any better

Repost improves it - no doubt about it for me. Excellent action shot of a proper show-off. Like the colours and the movement.

That's a fantastic pose. I agree, the repost is much better.

Great shot Dave. repost looks fantastic. I love the OOF wing blur. It gives the shot lots of action.
Well done!!!

Like the repost and particularly the wings. Has a sort of "painting" effect

Hi David
I like them both but I think I prefer the first, the repost is a little to central needs more room on the right side.

Still a nice image :toast:

Fantastic, really love shots like this with motion blur. Something else to aim at for me.

Beautiful image - motion blur works really well, and I prefer the original - gives a better feeling of depth. Jim's right - definite painterly effect.
