I've just noticed that Arthur Morris and some of his colleagues (most of which are on this forum!!) have started up a photography forum as well.

I am pleased to see more and more of these forums popping up all over the internet but does BPN have anything to offer that NPN does not?

I don't want this to sound like an attacking question by any means, I am just curious if there are any benefits to this new forum that NPN doesn't already cover.

So what you all think since there are already some members that belong to both??

Thanks!!

Thanks for the heads up, Kyle. I'm only a member on two forums right now, without time and interest for much more, but that looks like a good one. It's got three or four key talents within the avian community as mods. We'll see if it's as valuable as it's billed to be.

Looks great to me! And registration is free until April.
Several useful things in the "store" I haven't seen elsewhere, too.

Sounds good...I hope there aren't too many commercials. I love NPN because it's so focussed on the work of the individual, and the what to use and where to buy info stuff is added convenience. I think I'll hang around for a while.

Could someone tell the link for the net you are talking about.
Thanks,

It's in the title of the original post. Just type that into the url field and you'll go there.

Bring money.

Michael - Care to explain that comment? As far as I can tell, you only have to pay anything if you want to use their image hosting to post pictures. This is the same model in use on this website, and NatureScapes (which seem to be the two most similar sites that I've seen). Otherwise, no charge - you just have to register for a username.

I thought you had to pay to post images period? Can you post images for critique on birdphotographers.net for free?

Yes, you can Kyle. Here's a link to the Guidelines page.

The pertinent part is that you have to register to post, but not be a member. Registration is free, but membership is not. It's almost identical to how this site is run, except that I don't think you can do anything without registering. And I believe it's identical to NatureScapes as well. On this site, the photos are publicly viewable (which I think is terrific). That's the major difference in those terms.
